Matt Gagnon Moves On

Since the beginning of Pine Tree Politics, the main driver of content here has been our Editor in Chief, Matt Gagnon.

Matt has had a unique opportunity to write here while simultaneously working in politics for about two years now – a rare and lucky gift.

In the past year, he was part of the national effort devoted to electing Republicans to the United States Senate – a position that has now ended, given the conclusion of this year’s elections.  As he always expected, Matt looked to new opportunities.  You may have noticed that he hasn’t written in several days.

That new opportunity took shape quickly.  As of today, Matt is now serving as the Director of New Media Communications for United States Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) in her Washington, DC office.

Unfortunately, being an aide to a Senator, especially one which is and will be written about here at Pine Tree Politics often, means his days of commentary and punditry are on hold for now.  As such, Matt will be taking a leave of absence from Pine Tree Politics until further notice.  He will no longer be writing, editing, or conducting day to day operations here at PTP.

The good news is that we have cultivated a strong team of additional writers who will take the reigns here and continue to serve you with quality, insightful content going forward.  And of course, we are always looking for new talent, so if you are interested in contributing to Pine Tree Politics please send us an email.

Please join us in thanking Matt for two great years, and wishing him good luck in his new endeavor.  We hope he can come back home some day.
